Africa is seen as an up and coming market ripe for investors to invest in. An Indian company has just introduced a Motorbike in Ghana.
India based motorbike powerhouse, Bajaj Auto Limited have introduced to the latest Bajaj Boxer 150 Motorbike onto the Ghanaian market.
The new Boxer 150 Motorbike is targeted at low end users who intend to use it to run errands on a daily basis.
Speaking at the launch of the Motorbikes in Accra on Monday, Senior Vice President of Bajaj Africa, K S Grihapathy told Citi Business News, his outfit intends to set up sales service centres in all the major towns across the country as soon as possible to provide customers real value for money.
According to him in the wake of increasing transportation cost in Ghana Bajaj Auto Ltd has decided to partner with SOMOCO Ghana Ltd, a subsidiary of Mohinani group, one of Ghana’s most prestigious business houses, as its authorized distributor and has already started operations in Accra, Tamale and Kumasi.
He said “Bajaj Motorbike has immense advantages over other Bikes. This includes low fuel consumption, it is robust, and it is a product you can use for 15 years with just regular maintenance,’’.
On his part Director of Mohinani Group, Sunil Mohinani intimated the group’s commitment to solving customers’ needs by introducing world class and efficient products onto the Ghanaian market. Adding that “this is the reason why SOMOCO decide to partner Bajaj Auto to introduce this product.
Deputy Minister for Transport, Hon Joyce Mogtari, who was the guest of honour of the occasion, praised the Mohinani Group for introducing an environmentally friendly product to the Ghanaian market. She also urged the Group to provide customers road safety tips and also promote the use of safety wear especially helmets.
It is very important that when companies introduce new products such as Motorbikes, Scooters or Mopeds to a new and emerging market, that they ensure that new users are given instructions on Health and Safety.
The Boxer 150 motorbikes are being sold currently through the three fully equipped sales and service showrooms in Accra, Tamale and Kumasi.
